LAKE OSWEGO, OR, JANUARY 15, 2025—After more than three decades, Partners Dave Buck and Joe Schneid have retired from Aldrich, effective December 31, 2024. During their tenure, both Dave and Joe helped shape Aldrich’s culture of collaboration, innovation, and mentorship, leaving a legacy for their colleagues and clients alike.
Dave Buck, CPA
Since joining Aldrich in 1983, Dave was committed to delivering exceptional client service. He focused on tax, estate, and consulting services tailored to the unique needs of agribusinesses, cooperatives, real estate companies, and closely held businesses and their owners. As a part-owner of his family’s grass seed and seed-cleaning business in the Willamette Valley, Dave combined personal industry experience with a practical approach to help clients achieve their goals.
“Dave’s unwavering commitment to the agricultural community and his leadership have left an enduring legacy at Aldrich,” said Erik Gillam, partner. “Since 1983, he played a pivotal role in shaping the Agriculture niche, building strong client relationships, and mentoring countless employees. His dedication and hard work have been instrumental in making Aldrich a place where careers flourish, and we are deeply grateful for his lasting impact.”
“As I reflect on my time at Aldrich, I struggle to pick just one favorite memory. However, the mentorship I received from former CEO Steve Tatone in my early years stands out,” said Dave. “I trust that our employees will carry on Aldrich’s proud history by always looking for new opportunities and inspiring a spirit of entrepreneurship.”
In retirement, Dave is looking forward to spending more time with his grandchildren, serving nonprofit organizations, and traveling with friends. He also plans to fly fish and complete home renovation projects.
Joe Schneid, CPA, CCIFP®
Joe Schneid joined Aldrich in 1995 and spent more than 30 years focused on the construction industry, assisting architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and real estate holding companies with transaction planning and tax compliance. As one of the earliest Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (CCIFP®) in the country, Joe is widely recognized throughout the firm and across Oregon’s construction community as a dependable advisor, supportive mentor, and champion of building strong relationships.
“Joe’s unwavering dedication to client service, guided by his servant leadership mindset, will be deeply missed,” said Tracy Allen, partner. “His unique ability to think creatively and deliver innovative solutions, paired with his genuine care for the whole person, sets him apart. We are committed to honoring his legacy by teaching and exemplifying his principles for the next generation.”
“From my very first partner meeting in 2001, I was impressed by my partners’ considerable talents, but it was their deep devotion to the firm and to one another that truly inspired me,” said Joe. “Over my 30 years at Aldrich, and 24 years as a partner, I made it my mission to put the firm first, fostering an environment where staff and partners alike hold each other accountable and encourage one another to reach our fullest potential.”
As he begins retirement, Joe plans to stay active by hiking, fishing, golfing, and walking his dog. He looks forward to spending quality time with his wife and grandchildren, in addition to exploring new destinations, from US national parks to Africa and Europe.
