At Aldrich, we exist to improve the lives of our people, our clients and our communities. Steve Tatone, our CEO of nearly 40 total years, has always believed that this mission starts with approaching everything we do from a servant leadership perspective.

A servant leader is someone whose drive stems from a desire to help others first, lead with empathy and compassion and make meaningful contributions to something greater than themselves. “Steve has a gift of knowing everything about you and asking all these questions,” says Aldrich Partner Melissa Berndt in regards to the welcoming atmosphere that servant leadership creates.

This inaugural award recognizes an employee of Aldrich who demonstrates this philosophy, going above and beyond to leave our people, our communities and our firm even better than they found them. Among a pool of excellent candidates nominated by our employees and partners, the leadership committee selected Karen DeBora (pictured center), Manager of Tax Operations, as the 2019 winner of the Aldrich Servant Leader Award.

Karen demonstrates a genuine desire to serve others and give back, mentoring employees to help them grow and succeed and providing high-level client service. She acts as a steward of the firm and is committed to helping Aldrich leave a lasting impact on the community.
