LAKE OSWEGO, OR, July 25, 2024— Aldrich hosted its 16th Action Day, the annual day of service where Aldrich offices close to allow employees to participate in organized volunteer projects.
“This year, with five Action Day sites, we’re proud to extend our efforts and deepen our commitment to giving back to the areas where we operate,” said Melissa Berndt, Partner, HR + General Counsel. “What makes Aldrich team members so special is their enthusiasm for showing up for each other and their communities. The tradition of Action Day can’t carry on without the hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their efforts to something larger than themselves.”
More than 50 California employees helped eliminate food insecurity at two Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank sites along with the Orange County Food Bank. The team supporting the San Diego Food Bank bagged 10,500 pounds of produce, and the North County Food Bank team prepared 464 to-go bags for the food pantry in addition to bagging 900 pounds of mangoes. Finally, the employees volunteering at the Orange County Food Bank packed 400 boxes of nonperishables for the elderly.
In Oregon, 30 Salem employees made more than 125 cards for Operation Gratitude, Cards for Hospitalized Kids, Love for our Elders, and employees recovering from health events. Additionally, 90 Lake Oswego employees joined Medical Teams International to prepare hygiene packs, support grounds work, wash vans, and organize a recycling system. 500 hygiene kits were created, which were sent to two local organizations, Virginia Garcia Beaverton Wellness Center and El Programa Hispano, to support agricultural migrants.

It was a rewarding experience that deepened my understanding of how we can make a positive impact on those in need.”
