Aldrich Celebrates 15 Years of Action Day, Annual Day of Service

Presented by the Aldrich Group of Companies

LAKE OSWEGO, OR, July 31, 2023— On Tuesday, July 17, 2023, Aldrich hosted its fifteenth annual day of service, referred to as Action Day, gathering employees for volunteer projects throughout Oregon and Southern California.

“It is remarkable to celebrate this milestone for Action Day in the same year as our 50th anniversary,” shared Melissa Berndt, Partner + General Counsel. “This tradition is only possible because of the enthusiasm and engagement of our employees, which speaks to our shared value of giving back to the community. It is an honor to be welcomed back by our community partners and to contribute to the impact they are making.”

The California Aldrich teams gathered at multiple San Diego Food Bank locations to support their mission of providing nutritious food to people in need, advocating for the hungry, and educating the public about hunger-related issues.

“Action Day is always an incredible reminder of the impact our teams can have when working towards a shared goal. Together, we packaged 8,000 pounds of food, providing nourishment to 10,000 people in need,” commented Shaivi Vasanadu, Partner. “To make the experience even more memorable, we had the privilege of volunteering alongside Grammy award-winning singer, Lauren Daigle!”

In Portland, over 100 Aldrich volunteers maintained the grounds and indoor spaces of Trillium Family Services, Oregon’s only full-service provider of children’s mental and behavioral healthcare services.

“Thank you so much for your service at our Portland Campus for Action Day!” effused Shanin Engman, Volunteer and Donor Engagement Manager. “All in all, eight different areas of our campus—from the Healing Garden to the attic and library—benefitted from your efforts. I love the heart you share with us in wanting to do good in our community.”

Finally, 45 Aldrich volunteers joined Marion Polk Food Share in Salem to support their mission of distributing nutritious food for individuals and families to more than 100 local partners.

Kim Hoover, Volunteer Manager, said, “Thank you all for being such a wonderful group to help at the Food Share! The team repacked a whopping 2,560 pounds of fresh green beans, 2,140 pounds of beets, and 1,197 pounds of frozen vegetables. We’re already looking forward to hosting your group again!”
