We are pleased to announce that AKT has named five new partners, Tracy Allen, Amy Fenerty, Carrie Sowders, Jaime Stimpson, and Andy Maffia effective January 1, 2015.

Tracy Allen joined AKT in January 2003 and has practiced public accounting since 1999. She has spent the majority of that time focusing on the construction industry. Tracy was chosen in 2013 as one of thirty-six participants across the nation for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Leadership Academy. She has served as the Education Chair for the Portland Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), Treasurer for the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA), and Treasurer for Si Padres, among many other positions held. She has spoken and taught classes for the CFMA, NAWIC and The Surety & Fidelity Association of America in connection with the USDOT BEP workshops for minority contractors. She holds a Bachelors of Accounting from Linfield College.

Amy Fenerty joined AKT in 2000 and is dedicated to serving telecommunications companies. She has experience with clients of all sizes and performs all aspects of the audit. Amy provides financial and accounting services, cash flow projections, internal control reviews, as well as regulatory assistance and consulting. She graduated from Oregon State University, holding a degree in business administration with a major in accounting. She also regularly speaks at various Telco industry association meetings and serves on the Oregon Telecommunications Association.

Andy Maffia has nearly 15 years of experience in public accounting, with his focus on auditing nonprofit organizations, organizations subject to a single audit under OMB A-133, agreed-upon procedures and consulting work, as well as assurance audits for closely-held companies. He currently sits on the Board of Directors and serves on the audit and finance committees of a nonprofit located in San Diego. He also speaks annually at the University of San Diego Nonprofit Governance Symposium.

Carrie Sowders has over 15 years of public accounting experience serving as creative tax advisor to companies predominantly in the manufacturing and distribution, technology and service sectors. Carrie partners with large and middle market companies, as well as a number of early stage growth companies, to help them navigate evolving tax laws and plan for tax-efficient growth. She brings to AKT depth in multi-national corporate tax matters, state and local taxation, and income tax accounting. Carrie previously served as a long-term board member of Oregon Entrepreneurs Network.

Jaime Stimpson joined AKT in 2004 and has been working in the accounting profession for nearly 15 years. Through her role with AKT Private Wealth, Jaime provides strategic tax planning, personal financial planning and investment advisory services to high-net worth individuals and business owners. Jaime develops long-term relationships with her clients, which allows her to identify clients’ objectives and provide them with personalized tax solutions. Jaime received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Master of Accountancy from the University of Montana. She is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Oregon and holds Personal Financial Specialist and Certified Specialist in Estate Planning credentials. She is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Portland.
