Manufacturing Day 2014 Award Recipients

AKT partnered with three regional trade associations to award a Certificate of Recognition to one manufacturing member of each organization in honor of MFG Day 2014.

To celebrate the recognition of these three manufacturers, AKT made a donation in the name of each recipient to Pathways to Manufacturing, an incubator for high school aged children designed to address industry workforce needs, help lower the drop-out rate, and provide clear pathways to rewarding careers in manufacturing.

Modern Building Systems
Recognized by Strategic Economic Development Corporation (SEDCOR)

“Modern so greatly appreciates advocates for the growth of manufacturing and industry careers in the Willamette Valley. We will hang the certificate with pride and look forward to hearing about what Impact NW is able to achieve with the donation.”
Jim Rasmussen, CEO of Modern Building Systems

“We are incredibly grateful for the donations and additional awareness of our program from AKT and their partner trade associations. What really keeps this program afloat and effective is our industry partnerships. Without a commitment from area manufacturers to provide students with site visits, internships, job shadows, and curriculum development assistance, this program isn’t worth much. So, on behalf of the students we work with, we’re incredibly appreciative of AKT’s efforts to increase Pathways to Manufacturing’s exposure.”
Aaron Bouchane, Program Manager of Pathways to Manufacturing
