AKT is pleased to announce that Elsa Romero, partner, is a nominee of the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) 2015 ‘Women to Watch’ Award.
CalCPA Education Foundation, in partnership with the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and its Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee, will recognize leading women who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession, or who demonstrate characteristics that enable them to become leaders in the profession. Elsa has been nominated in the Experienced Leaders category. The award will be presented during The Women’s Leadership Forum’s luncheon on April 24, 2015.

With over 15 years of experience, Elsa specializes in consulting and tax advisory services. Her public accounting experience includes providing audit and tax services for a wide variety of nonprofit organization and small business family held companies. Elsa holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University (SDSU) and is a Certified Public Accountant. Elsa is a valuable resource for organizations that need specialized attention for tax compliance, board governance and other IRS and local agency compliance requirements. Elsa serves on the boards of two San Diego County nonprofits as finance chair. She has also served as a presenter at the University of San Diego Non-Profit Governance Symposium. Elsa is currently President of the San Diego State University Alumni Association.
