AKT Named Healthiest Company by the San Diego Business Journal

AKT CPAs, Advisors, and Consultants is named a 2015 Healthiest Employer by San Diego Business Journal. AKT ranked 3rd in the category of ‘Companies Headquartered Outside of San Diego.’

The Healthiest Companies award was developed to highlight the most forward-thinking companies when it comes to workplace wellness and prioritizing a healthy workforce as integral components of their business plans.

AKT offers a variety of wellness programs throughout the year for its employees. The firm’s aim is to provide the tools and incentives to help its people stay happy, healthy and invested in the company’s culture, vision and commitment to health. Last year, AKT initiated a company-wide program called the ‘Walk Across America Fitbit Challenge’ to encourage employees to increase their daily movement. Participating employees were organized into teams and were able to track their progress electronically using their Fitbit Flex band. Together, the goal was to walk the distance from AKT’s office in San Diego, California to the office in Anchorage, Alaska, approximately 3,500 miles. This is one of many wellness initiatives throughout the year. Teams at AKT also ran 200 miles down the California coast as part of the SoCal Ragnar Relay and 197 miles from Mount Hood to Seaside, Oregon as part of Hood To Coast. Around the office, AKT provides healthy lunch and snack options and organizes employee team sports throughout the year.
